Mellott recently partnered with Southern Machinery Company (SMCo) to host a two-day training event focused on HP Cone Crusher Operations & Maintenance—bringing valuable technical education and hands-on experience directly to our customers in the Southeast. Held at SMCo’s facility in Nashville, TN, the event welcomed 47 registered participants and marked another successful session in our ongoing customer training program.

Day One: Technical Instruction & Classroom Learning
The first day featured instructor-led sessions by Mellott experts Ron and Jim , covering essential principles of safe, efficient operation and maintenance of HP cone crushers.
The agenda included:
• An overview of Mellott and our key partner capabilities
• In-depth discussions on safety best practices
• Technical maintenance and operational guidelines
• Q&A and open dialogue with industry professionals
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees calling out the value of the instruction, the clarity of the training materials, and the expertise of the presenters. One highlight that stood out beyond the technical content? The BBQ lunch, generously prepared by our award winning BBQ team headed up by Mike and Matt, which added a personal and memorable touch to the day.

Day Two: Live Crusher Teardown & Hands-On Training
Recognizing the value of experiential learning, day two offered a hands-on component that brought technical training to life. Attendees participated in a live teardown of an HP300 cone crusher.
Key features of the hands-on session included:
• Elevated stairs and platforms allowing top-down views of the teardown
• Opportunities for close-up engagement and interaction with Mellott trainers
• One-on-one discussions and Q&A during the disassembly process
This hands-on format was repeatedly cited in post-event surveys as one of the most valuable aspects of the training—highlighting just how important it is for plant personnel to see and touch the equipment they work with every day.
