At Mellott, we believe that investing in people is the best way to build a stronger future—for our company, our industry, and our communities. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the graduation of the 2025 Mellott University class!
Please join us in congratulating Blaine, Myles, Maddux, Logan, Garrett, and Gavin, who have officially completed our Mellott University pre-apprentice program—and have each signed on to join Mellott as full-time employees! Additionally, four of our graduates have decided to continue their education through pursuing their associates degree through Mellott’s partnership with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College.
These six young men have shown outstanding dedication, growth, and commitment to excellence throughout the program. Their hard work has not gone unnoticed, and we are thrilled to welcome them as the newest full-time members of the Mellott team!
This graduation ceremony was a powerful reminder of the impact this program has—not only on our graduates but on the entire Mellott team. It was a proud afternoon, made even more special by the presence of so many supportive family members and friends who came to cheer on their accomplishments.
We also took the opportunity to recognize the many individuals who made this moment possible:

and support have been vital in shaping this year’s program. - Mellott team members who volunteered their time, shared their knowledge, and offered guidance and encouragement throughout the training journey.

- Dave and Les, our dedicated instructors, whose leadership, mentorship, and patience helped guide this class every step of the way.
Garrett was awarded a special honor of being presented with the Annual John DeShong Award, for achieving the highest GPA in his class and exemplifying qualities of a master technician. In addition to a certificate, Garrett received a tool set to start him on his service technician journey. This award commemorates the memory of John DeShong, a respected and loved member of our team who passed away several years ago. We know John would be so proud!
At Mellott, we take pride in growing talent from within. Mellott University is more than a training program—it’s a launchpad for the next generation of skilled professionals in the aggregate industry. We are excited to see where the careers of Blaine, Myles, Maddux, Logan, Garrett, and Gavin will take them—and we’re honored to be a part of their journey.
