Southern Machinery Company and Mellott were excited to partner October 31-November 2 to conduct an on-site training for Vulcan Materials Company in Hermitage, TN. Around 25 people attended this three-day training which focused on Metso’s HPXXX Cones, C-Jaws and Symons rock crushers. Instructors for the class were Mellott’s Ron Teeters, Service Manager and Jon Genger, Service/Outside Sales of NorX. Together they brought their combined 54 plus years of experience in the crushing and crushing repair arena to the table. Delivering an exceptional and personalized experience was our goal in approaching this training, always striving to empower our customers with the knowledge they need to succeed while building trust and relationships.
Safety first, always!
Ron Teeters expressed how he felt about the training, “I want to spread the knowledge of safety and I want everyone to understand the hazards of the equipment we deal with daily. When they disassemble or reassemble equipment, I want them to understand static load, and the loads of the equipment we deal with. I want people to safely know how to disassemble and reassemble equipment and return to their families the way they came to work.”
Great food and great company are two of life’s simplest yet great pleasures.
Not only did attendees of this training receive plenty of food for thought regarding safely maintaining rock crushers, but they certainly didn’t leave hungry! Mike Stavola, Vice President of Operations at Mellott, and Michael Stavola III, General Manager Southern Operations, at Kastrock Services, also combined forces with the help of Matt Sweitzer, Division Manager, at Mellott and Chris Powers, Sales Engineer at Southern Machinery Company to provide an absolute feast each of the 3 days of training. In addition to cooking for the training attendees, they extended the invitation for lunch to the entire Hermitage, TN Vulcan team! The Stavolas transported their impressive hand built double ovens nearly 900 miles to tantalize everyone’s tastebuds with smoked chicken, sausage, brisket, ribs, wings and more.
