Controlling and operating of machines and equipment to manufacture parts for the company. Operation of heavy, sophisticated machinery is required to make the parts and move them on to the next step of the manufacturing process in a timely manner. Communication with other departments is essential to meet production deadlines.
Essential Duties:
- Making parts with a high level of quality
- Bending, burning out, putting holes in, and cutting parts
- Quality checks on finished parts to ensure proper condition
- Scraping slag off parts
- Operation of overhead cranes, brake press, shears
- Use of lifting clamps, lifting chains, and lifting straps
- Operation of CNC machinery such as burn tables, angle lines, drill lines, and radial drills
- Maintain a chain of communication with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments
- Ensure timely preparation and availability of all production materials to avoid shortage during production
- Treat shop tools and equipment with care
Secondary Duties:
- Maintain an overall safe work environment
- Keep work area clean
- Perform other duties as assigned
