Job Scope:

Prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches. Use CAD software, engineering practices, and geometry/trigonometry knowledge to complete drawings.

Essential Duties:

Makes final detail fabrication drawings and bom’s, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and the relation of various parts to the project
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired
Draws charts for representation of statistical data
Draws finished designs from sketches
Uses computer assisted drafting equipment and software ( 2D and 3D)
Support the fabrication shop throughout the fabrication process which may require shop visits, phone calls, and emails
Secondary Duties:

Maintain a clean and safe work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency with CAD software (2D and 3D)
Demonstrated ability and proven knowledge of geometry and trigonometry
Display great attention to detail
Interpersonal and communication skills
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Education Requirements:

Two year technical certificate or Associate’s degree in related field

Pushing – 5% of shift

Pulling – 5% of shift

Climbing – 0% of shift

Sitting – 65% of shift

Overhead work – 0% of shift

Walking – 35% of shift

Lifting up to 40 pounds – 5% of shift

Work Environment:

Work usually takes place in a climate controlled office. The volume in the office is usually quiet. Work may require fabrication shop visits. Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, ear plugs/muffs, and steel toe boots, are required in the fabrication shop.
