Job Scope:

Ensures that customers are invoiced for shipments from Mellott and that payments are collected timely.  Prepares information for credit limit review, print and mail statements to customers, maintain customer files.

Essential Duties:

  • Process customer credit applications and maintain customer files
  • Establish and regularly monitor customer credit limits, with guidance and approval of CFO
  • Determine release of credit blocks
  • Make collection calls to customers on a regular basis
  • Prepare invoicing for customers
  • Process manual credit card transactions
  • Record daily cash receipts and maintain records
  • Resolve account discrepancies
  • Process customer credit requests
  • Maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates
  • Conduct monthly accounts receivable aging meeting
  • Monitor authorizations and charges for credit card orders
  • Provide W-9 forms to customers

Secondary Duties:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Display great attention to detail
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
  • Excellent customer relation skills

Education Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Accounting or related business degree, or equal years of relevant experience

Experience Requirements:

At least two years of related experience

Physical Requirements:

Individual must be prepared for:

Reaching – 10% of shift

Bending – 0% of shift

Pushing – 5% of shift

Pulling – 5% of shift

Climbing – 0% of shift

Sitting – 80% of shift

Overhead work – 0% of shift

Standing – 20% of shift

Walking – 20% of shift

Lifting up to 40 pounds – 5% of shift

Work takes place in a climate controlled office.  The volume in the office is typically quiet.
